Chameleon

A chameleon is a type of lizard native to Africa, Asia, and Europe. It is known for its ability to change color and for its unique eyes and long, sticky tongue. 🦎

Chameleons have a slender body with a long tail and a pair of long, prehensile toes that they use to grasp branches. Their skin is covered in a series of scales. Their most notable feature is their ability to change color, which they do to communicate their mood, to regulate their body temperature, and to camouflage themselves. Their eyes are also unique, with each eye capable of moving independently of the other.

Chameleons are primarily arboreal, meaning they live in trees. They are carnivores and their diet consists of a wide variety of insects, which they catch with a lightning-fast tongue that can be up to twice the length of their body.

Chameleons are a solitary and territorial species. They are known for their slow, deliberate movements. When threatened, a chameleon will puff up its body and change its color to appear larger and more intimidating.
